Doctors for doctors
The Doctors for Doctors unit, part of the British Medical Association, provides doctors and medical students with two confidential, phone-based support services.

BMA Counselling - available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and allows doctors or medical students in difficulty to talk to fully trained counsellors, all of whom are certified by the BACP.

Ongoing counselling is available and regular appointments can be arranged. The counsellors deal with a wide range of issues including the pressures and stresses of work, relationship problems, alcohol or drug abuse and issues relating to mental health.

The Doctor Advisory Service - offers the choice of speaking with another doctor in confidence, our team of doctor-advisors work with you to gain insight into your problems, supporting and helping you to move on by adopting a holistic approach to your situation.

The Doctor Advisors do not provide diagnosis or treatment, although invariably any interaction will have a therapeutic aspect.

Both services are available by calling +44 8459 200 169.
